Worlds latest golf game
The Family Golf Game® is a unique golf game that can be played both indoors and outdoors, by all ages and by both golfers and non-golfers.
Practicing putting has never been so much fun as when playing the
Family Golf Game®.
Family Golf Game® will be presented at
GOLF-EUROPE 2009.
17th International Trade Fair for Golf
Sunday September 27th till Tuesday September 29th, 2009
Messe München GmbH
Germany
Hal 4 stand A02
The basic game,
suitable for all ages
The game comprises five white balls and one yellow ball. You play with the putter provided which can be used both left-handed and right-handed. To tee off place the ball about 25 cm from the edge of the mat (this is the length of the putters hand grip). Each player in turn hits six balls towards the numbered gates. To score a ball must go completely or partially through a gate(*). The player plays the yellow ball last. If before hitting the yellow ball the player correctly predicts the gate in which it lands, the score achieved with the yellow ball is doubled.
Once a ball has been hit it is not moved until the end of the round. This means that a ball played earlier in the round and left on the mat can be pushed into a gate by the ball currently being played. The ball currently being played may also hit another ball before rolling into a gate. Play three rounds, add up the scores and find out who has won!
These rules result in an exciting competition for young and old.
(*) A ball scores if it goes completely or partially through a gate. A ball counts as going partially through a gate if when standing directly over the gate the ball is visible behind the gate. Tip: if in doubt, hold a piece of card behind the gate and see if the golf ball moves. A ball that goes through a gate and then rolls back out does not score.
handicap rules
Are you better than the rest of the players?
Just like real golf the Family Golf Game® can also be played using a handicap rule. Use the handicap rule if you are a more experienced player than your opponent(s) and often win witha much higher score.
The 0 handicap is determined as follows:
The maximum score per round is:
5 x white balls in gate 4 = 20 points
1 x yellow ball in gate 4 = 4 x 2 = 8 points
(if you have predicted gate 4 beforehand!)
Total 28 points.
Can you achieve this score three rounds in a row?
Congratulations, you´re a real pro!
The example below shows how Player A and Player B calculate each others handicap before playing a round:
Player A has an average score of 20 points per round of six balls so has a handicap of 8.
Player B has an average score of 16 points per round of 6 balls so has a handicap of 12.
At the beginning of each round Player B receives a four point lead over
Player A (handicap 12 - handicap 8) (*).
(*) We advise you not to fix a handicap after just three rounds. Its better to work out a players average score over more rounds, or even over a longer period of time.
Keep a record of the average score, for example on the scorecard, and always note down the date. You can draw up an table of your average scores using the handicap form you download from www.familygolfgame.com. Discuss your average score when you play against an experienced player and agree each others handicap based on the maximum score of 28.
playing tips
Play safely!
Think about the safety of the other player(s) and the spectators. Never hit the ball wildly or too hard. A golf ball that is travelling fast could injure somebody or break something. For safety reasons the balls Supplied with
the game are made of a flexible material. We strongly advise you not to play with real hard gold balls.
You are now ready to play!
Playing tip: improve your putting technique
Are you a novice golfer or an experienced golfer?
In both cases the Family Golf Game® will give you the chance to improve your putting technique. Raising the playing mat slightly will even enable you to practice your chipping.
Playing tips for children
It takes practice, and sometimes a bit of luck, to hit a ball into a gate. So give children, and yourself, a chance by hitting your first shots from nearer the scoring gates. There are three tee spots on the mat. Play from the
centre tee or the tee nearest the scoring gates. This will give you a better chance of scoring and, at the same time, gradually improve your putting technique.
Tip from the Pro:
When you put the ball on the tee crouch down behind it.
Make sure the mark on the ball is pointing towards the gate you are going to aim for. This will help you line up the putter before you hit the ball.
In short, practicing putting has never been so much fun as when playing the Family Golf Game®.
